Studies show that caffeine enhances performance, mental clarity, concentration, memory, alertness and can help keep you awake. New research has also shown that small frequent amounts of caffeine can often work better than one big dose. Revvies Energy Strips contain 40mg of caffeine (equivalent to about half a cup of coffee), and our Extra Strength Strips contain 100mg of caffeine.

Here are a few more reasons to give it a go:

  1. They work fast. Let the strip dissolve on your tongue. Do not chew.
  2. They contain no sugar and are less than 1 calorie per strip.
  3. They can be taken before and during exercise.
  4. They cost less than an energy drink per serve.
  5. They fit in any purse or pocket making it easy to have a energy boost whenever and where ever you need it.

Revvies are not a snack and you should take them when you need a caffeine boost. They can be taken anywhere and time, even directly before exercise.

Just put one flat on your tongue and rub it between your tongue and the roof of your mouth until dissolved (Do not chew). This should take about 30 seconds.

Yes. They are manufactured in the UK under GMP and in compliance with European food standards. The products comply with FDA requirements as per the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) of 1994. All ingredients are also approved under Australian and New Zealand Food Standard and is classified as a supplemented food by the New Zealand Department of Primary Industries. Caffeine is the only active ingredient. Additionally, Revvies are accredited through the Informed-Sport or HASTA quality assurance programs, with every batch is tested for purity.

Because Revvies Energy Strips contain caffeine they are not recommended for children, pregnant or lactating women and those sensitive to caffeine.

If you take medication or have any medical conditions please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use.

Always comply with the directions on pack.

1 strip is normally enough, if you have a lot of coffee or are a regular energy drink user, you may prefer 2 strips. We recommend you try 1 strip to start with and if you cannot feel the benefits after 5 minutes, have another strip. Exceeding 5 strips per day may cause harm.

Yes, Revvies products are completely safe for athletes. Every batch is independently tested for purity by either Informed-Sport or HASTA to ensure they are free from substances banned by WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency).

This rigorous testing provides peace of mind for elite athletes and is one of the reasons why many professional teams and athletes choose Revvies as their trusted source.

Thanks for your question—it’s an important one.

While our Hydration and Gelly products can be used in appropriate sporting situations, Revvies Energy Strips contain caffeine, and we do not recommend them for anyone under the age of 18.

To support your child’s performance safely, we’ve included a helpful factsheet from Sports Dietitians Australia, which provides great guidance on fuelling young athletes for training and competition:

👉 Adolescent Athlete Factsheet

Although SDA is not associated with Revvies, we are referring the information here as a high-quality source for your convenience.

We wish your child all the best in their sporting journey. When they turn 18, Revvies can absolutely become a valuable part of their performance toolkit.

Yes, Revvies Energy Strips are keto-friendly—they contain no sugar and virtually no calories, making them suitable for low-carb and ketogenic diets.

They can also be taken on an empty stomach. Because Revvies are absorbed through the mouth (buccal absorption), they work quickly and are gentle on the stomach—ideal before early training sessions, races, or when you don’t feel like eating.

Caffeine has been shown to exhibit mild diuretic properties in some individuals, particularly at higher doses. However, because Revvies Energy Strips are absorbed buccally (via the lining of the mouth) rather than through the gastrointestinal tract, many users report a reduced incidence of gastrointestinal or diuretic effects compared to traditional caffeine sources such as coffee, energy drinks, or gels.

To minimise any potential diuretic response, consider staggering your caffeine intake—for example, using one strip pre-race and another during. This can help maintain alertness and performance without overloading the system at once.

As with all ergogenic aids, it is recommended to trial caffeine strategies in training to assess individual tolerance and response.

Revvies Energy Strips do not replace energy gels, as they serve a different purpose within your nutrition strategy.

Revvies provide a fast-acting dose of caffeine, absorbed through the mouth, to enhance mental focus, alertness, and physical performance. They contain no sugar, calories, or carbohydrates, and are not intended to provide the energy needed to fuel muscles during prolonged activity.

Energy gels, like our Energy Gelly are formulated to deliver carbohydrates to help sustain energy during longer sessions. Likewise, our Hypotonic Hydration supports fluid and electrolyte balance—essential for optimal performance and recovery, especially in hot or high-intensity conditions.

As a general guideline:

  • Training over 60–90 minutes, you’ll need additional carbohydrates and fluids to maintain energy and hydration.
  • Training under 60 minutes a combination of Revvies and Hypotonic Hydration may be sufficient, particularly when you're aiming to stay sharp without additional calories.

Revvies can be an excellent addition to your fuelling plan, especially when used alongside our Energy Gelly and Hypotonic Hydration, which are designed to flex with your individual needs—whether based on your training plan, environmental conditions, or the duration and intensity of your activity.

While Revvies contain no sugar and less than 1 calorie per strip, the caffeine in Revvies may impact blood sugar levels in some individuals with diabetes.

Because responses to caffeine can vary, we recommend speaking with your doctor or healthcare professional before use to ensure Revvies are appropriate for your personal health and diabetes management plan.

Revvies dissolve quickly on your tongue without the need for water. The caffeine is absorbed directly through the mucosal lining of the mouth, with effects felt within 5–10 minutes.

Caffeine gums, which also absorb through the mouth require continuous chewing for about 20 minutes to release the full amount of caffeine stated on the packaging.

Caffeine tablets must be swallowed with water and absorbed through the digestive tract, typically peaking around 30–40 minutes after ingestion.

This rapid absorption with Revvies allows you to take smaller, more frequent doses as needed, helping to maintain optimal performance while reducing the risk of caffeine overload.

Additionally, because Revvies bypass the digestive system, they are less likely to cause gastrointestinal distress compared to tablets or some energy drinks.

When naming our product, we considered common consumer understanding of “energy” products. In the food and beverage category, terms like “energy drinks” are widely used not to indicate caloric content, but to signal the presence of stimulants—such as caffeine—that enhance alertness and performance.

Our marketing clearly communicates that Revvies are not a source of calories or fuel, allowing you to manage your carbohydrate intake separately from caffeine consumption.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, one definition of energy is the ability to increase a person’s “capacity for or tendency towards (sustained) exertion or effort.” This aligns with scientific evidence: World Athletics recognises caffeine as one of five supplement ingredients shown to improve athletic performance.

We hope this clarifies why “Energy” is an appropriate and meaningful name for our strips

For a half marathon, we recommend taking 1–2 Revvies strips about five minutes before the start, adjusting based on your caffeine sensitivity. If needed, take another strip just after the halfway point to help maintain focus and energy.

It’s also important to use Revvies during training, especially before hard or long sessions, to build your fitness and endurance. Aim for 1–2 strips before starting, and if your session lasts longer than 90 minutes, consider taking an additional strip approximately every hour.

Here are three quick tips to get the most from your race day:

  1. Practice your entire race day routine including hydration and nutrition, several times in training to prepare your body and perfect your plan.
  2. Start hydrating well in advance - at least 48 hours before race day.
  3. Fold back the corners of the silver Revvies packaging to make it easier to open while on the move.

Happy running, and thanks for choosing Revvies!

For a marathon, we recommend taking 1–2 Revvies strips about five minutes before the start, then one strip each hour during the race, without exceeding 200–400 mg of caffeine (from all sources) throughout the day, depending on your caffeine sensitivity.

Because marathons last well over an hour, it’s essential to also consume carbohydrates during your race to fuel your muscles and maintain energy. Revvies provide caffeine but do not contain carbohydrates, so be sure to include energy gels, chews, or sports drinks as part of your nutrition plan.

It’s important to incorporate Revvies into your training routine as well, especially before hard or long sessions, to build your fitness and endurance. Take 1–2 strips before starting, and if your session lasts longer than 90 minutes, consider taking an additional strip approximately every hour.

Here are three tips for race day success:

  1. Practice your entire race day routine, including hydration and nutrition, several times in training to prepare your body and perfect your plan.
  2. Begin hydrating well in advance
at least 48 hours before race day.
  3. Fold back the corners of the silver Revvies packaging to make it easier to open while on the move.

For a 5K, which typically lasts under 30 minutes, we recommend taking 1 strip about 5–10 minutes before the race to help boost focus and alertness.

Because the race is short, additional strips during the run usually aren’t necessary. Just make sure you’re well-hydrated before you start.

The most common approach is to take 1–2 Revvies 40 mg strips about 5–10 minutes before the race.

Alternatively, you can try 1 strip 5–10 minutes before the start and another 40 mg strip at the 5K mark to maintain your energy and focus throughout the race.

For runners over 70 kg or those with a higher caffeine tolerance, we also offer 100 mg strips. In this case, taking 1 strip pre-race may be a suitable option.

As always, test your caffeine strategy during training to find what works best for you.

Yes, Revvies Energy Strips contain a small amount of the artificial sweetener sucralose. Because each strip weighs only about 200 mg (1/20th of a teaspoon), there isn’t enough room for sugar to provide noticeable sweetness.

To achieve a pleasant taste in this compact format, we use less than 20 mg of sucralose per strip, which is approximately 1/200th of a teaspoon—an extremely small amount.

Sucralose is approved for use by food safety authorities worldwide, including Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and is widely considered safe for consumption.

If your morning coffee works well for you (no stomach discomfort or sloshing during your run), you can skip taking Revvies at the start and instead have 1 strip around 45–60 minutes into your run.

Alternatively, you might try 1–2 strips before starting, followed by 1 strip at 40–60 minutes, then enjoy a coffee after your run to support recovery.

As a general guideline, 1–3 mg of caffeine per kilogram of bodyweight is considered optimal for endurance performance. Each Revvies strip contains about 40 mg of caffeine, roughly equivalent to half a cup of coffee. The recommended maximum caffeine intake from all sources is no more than 400 mg per day.

We understand that the packaging can be a little tricky at first! To make opening easier, try folding back the corners of the silver strip packaging before you’re on the move. This creates a small tab that’s much easier to grip and peel open quickly—perfect for use during training or races.

If you continue to have trouble, let us know—we’re here to help.

We’re sorry to hear that Revvies didn’t enhance your performance on your last run. There are two common reasons this might happen:

  1. About 10% of the population metabolizes caffeine differently, meaning they may not experience the usual performance benefits.
  2. You may simply need a higher caffeine dose to feel the effects.

Do you usually get a performance boost from coffee or other caffeine sources? If yes, we suggest trying an extra Revvies strip before your next run. We also offer an Extra Strength 100 mg strip that might provide the stronger boost you’re looking for.

If you don’t normally feel a boost from caffeine, you may be part of that smaller group who naturally don’t respond to caffeine’s effects.

Either way, we appreciate your feedback and are here to help you find the best solution.

The main difference between Revvies Energy Strips and Revvies Extra Strength is the caffeine content:

  • Revvies Energy Strips contains 40 mg of caffeine per strip—about half a cup of instant coffee.
  • Revvies Extra Strength contains 100 mg of caffeine per strip—roughly equivalent to a strong espresso.

We recommend starting with the 40 mg strip, and if needed, you can take two strips before your run. During longer runs, you can have another strip after about 45 minutes to an hour to maintain your energy.

For extended efforts, you can repeat this pattern, but please do not exceed 200 mg of caffeine in total (equivalent to 5 x 40 mg strips) to avoid overstimulation.

Hypotonic electrolyte hydration refers to a type of sports drink or hydration solution that has a lower concentration of dissolved particles (like salts and sugars) than the fluids inside your body’s cells. Because of this lower concentration, hypotonic drinks are absorbed quickly and efficiently into the bloodstream, making them excellent for rapid hydration.

These drinks provide electrolytes—such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium—that help replace what’s lost through sweat, supporting muscle function and fluid balance during exercise. Because they contain fewer carbohydrates than isotonic or hypertonic drinks, hypotonic formulations focus primarily on hydration without adding a heavy energy load.

Sodium citrate is often preferred over sodium chloride (table salt) in hydration products because it offers several benefits:

  • Improved flavour: Sodium citrate provides a cleaner, less salty flavor, making hydration drinks more palatable and easier to consume during exercise.
  • Gentler on the Stomach: Sodium citrate tends to be easier on the digestive system, reducing the risk of gastrointestinal discomfort that some athletes experience with sodium chloride.
  • Enhanced Absorption: Research shows that sodium citrate is absorbed faster when consumed alongside glucose, improving hydration efficiency during exercise.

For general hydration, take one serve per day.

For rehydration after 60 mins of exercise take 2 serves.

Yes! While Revvies Hypotonic Electrolyte Hydration is designed to support fluid and electrolyte replacement during exercise, it can also be beneficial in other situations where hydration is important—such as:

  • Everyday hydration during hot or dry weather
  • Recovery from illness or dehydration
  • Supporting hydration during travel
  • Enhancing hydration for physically demanding work or outdoor activities

Just remember to follow the mixing instructions and adjust intake based on your individual needs.
